At Inter Cars, I co-developed an automotive e-commerce platform for multiple European markets and helped modernize an existing React application, from taking over an outsourced codebase to building shared UI foundations.

The product

From June 2019 to June 2023, my work covered both the continued development of an existing frontend and a new e-commerce platform built from the ground up for Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Croatia.

Reusable components and shared module layers supported development across projects. The frontend combined React and Next.js with server-side rendering, Redux, React Query, and GraphQL, while an internal design system kept UI components separate from business logic.

What I was responsible for

  • Co-led the takeover of a frontend application from an external outsourcing team, analyzing its architecture and planning gradual modernization.
  • Carried out a staged migration from React class components to hooks, separating component, module, and page layers before progressively replacing existing implementations.
  • Co-developed a reusable UI component library and design system for multiple projects, with components decoupled from business logic and distributed internally through JFrog.
  • Co-developed the e-commerce platform from the ground up for Central and Eastern European markets.
  • Developed frontend architecture with React, Next.js, Redux, React Query, and GraphQL, using server-side rendering and shared component and module layers.
